So when I took my graphic design job, I knew it wouldn't last forever, and actually, I anticipated it to stop maybe in February or March. The bummer is that yesterday I learned that instead of a couple more months, the actuality is that it will be no more than a couple more weeks, since they decided not to pursue making any more themed designs. So yesterday was really disappointing. Not disappointing because I'll miss the company or the work, really, but I'm just discouraged at having to find another job, especially with the economy being so weak. I think what's SUPER frustrating is that this has been the story of my life since I returned home from Princeton in June 2007. Frankly, I'm tired of it. Gavin, however, is a great support--he says that he views this as a big opportunity for me to find something new. So, if any of you hear of anyone needing a graphic designer, please let me know.

The weather here has been incredible...like late spring weather. It is in the low 80s during the day, low 50s at night. It is also dry and windy. I really enjoy this weather; I like going out in it. Tomorrow I'll get to enjoy the weather at Disneyland! I'm particularly excited that it's warm because we'll be park-hopping between Disneyland and California Adventure, and I'm really interested in going on this one water ride there. With hot weather, I doubt I'll have any difficulty convincing anyone to go on it with me. I'm also looking particularly forward to the Pirates of the Caribbean, the Haunted Mansion and the CA Adventure ferris wheel.

Last night we had our second softball game, which is really our first (since there was a forfeit last week) and we lost big time. It was still a practice game and they usually place teams from different divisions against each other to determine ranking. We had a couple of particularly bad innings, so I thought that the other team was a few divisions ahead of us, but looking at the league schedule that was just issued, they're only one league above us. I never got on base, unfortunately, but I did have two solid hits. The other two hits I had were just awful...I'll need to go to the batting cages to get the hang of hitting again.

Anyway, I think I might work on making some vegetable enchiladas to freeze and keep at Gavin's for quick, but different meals in the future.
