This morning I got up at 7:00 a.m., which felt quite luxurious compared to getting up at 6:00 a.m. Let me just tell you. This day off reminds me of what is so great about being unemployed. I feel so unencumbered and able to do the things I want to do. When's retirement?

Painting of the Holy Family I have seen a bunch of crazy things today. First, I finished a comp for the Catholic missionary organization. I talked with them and they are pleased, but I will re-paint it by next week to incorporate a few things they want me to do. All in all, I am pleased with it, especially seeing some of the paintings I've done recently, which were not very good.

Then, I went to get my nails done (my toes look cute!) and I walked in and said, "Can I get a manicure & pedicure?" And they replied, "As long as you can put up with the filming..." And then I actually looked around in the salon and saw that they were all set up to film a show. Turns out they were going to film a part of the Rachel Ray show in the salon. They weren't filming while I was there, just setting up (which was interesting for me to watch while I couldn't do anything else).

Then I went to Ralphs to get some groceries to make this delicious watermelon salad and, when I pulled in the parking lot, I noticed that this one family was tailgating in the parking lot. Just sitting there, leisurely, in beach chairs, with their trunk open, enjoying the "outdoors" with each other.

Ok, now onto lunch and then Heather's birthday party!
