Day 8: Almost completeI realize that I have not posted a painting in awhile. I haven't been painting much in the past few days, although I have done a little work. If you click on the painting to the right, you'll be whisked away to the photoset of my painting a day series. I'm only on painting #9, whereas it's day 23, so you can see how it's going. I will press-on, however, until I reach the 30 mark. I have some ideas of various things to paint but I just haven't had as much time to paint, despite being home for many days in a row. I have just been working on other things, like trying to figure out my future and finishing this sermon that I'm working on for KC's church for this coming Sunday. I've finished the exegesis and have begun writing the actual sermon and am about two pages in and feel like I still have more to say, which is always a comforting thing.

So today I have a guest appearance shaping the minds of 7th grade students. One of the cooler things was that I walked into the classroom and one of the students remembered my name, despite the fact that the last time I subbed for this class was probably last October or so. The class has been mostly good so far, working on their reports on an ancient Chinese invention, although there are periods where they'll get loud and talk a bunch about Metallica or the song Crazy Train. There was also a conversation/debate among the students of which student between two the teacher prefers and the class consensus was that the teacher didn't like either of them. Understandable, really. One of the most difficult parts of substituting is granting students leave to go to the bathroom or get a drink and myself, even though I really have to go, I have to wait for recess. Thank goodness recess is two minutes away!
