Today was a really good day.

I didn't have to work at the hospital today, so I took a walk in the morning. From there, I came home and emailed a little and then arranged for lunch with Kristie. We ended up going to this very hip and eclectic coffee shop for lunch and dined al fresco, since today was spectacular. My favorite combination of bright, sunny, windy and crisp!

Then I came home and I was intent on doing some graphic design, but Joey convinced me to go to Pasadena with him to look at something at the Pottery Barn. It turned out that the Pottery Barn was closed (and, indeed, all Pottery Barns were closed today for inventory, apparently), so we went to Crate and Barrel down the street and I picked up a registry gift for a wedding I will be attending in late March.

As a side note, does anyone else get disappointed when shopping off of a registry for friends and seeing what they selected versus what they could have selected? I mean, it's all a matter of taste but, clearly, my taste must be superior in those instances...right? :)

Anyway, then I came home and did some graphic design in my PJ pants (best thing ever about working from home) until it was time for softball. Apparently I got the time wrong and showed up a little too early, but it all worked out in the end. We played in the freezing cold (it was maybe 49 degrees with a wind chill of like 42-45F) and were able to beat the other team, 14-10. So, that was good news.

Then I came home and talked to some friends and watched episode 16 of Heroes (not quite as scary as episode 15, which had me covering my eyes at points) and now it's time for bed.

All in all, a good day.
