The Medieval Bestseller I read it somewhere on the Internet... |

![]() Usually I'll read a number of books at any one time. At least 5. I'm not quite sure why I do this, really. I think because when I'm struck by something, I just want to get in to it, even if I don't have enough time. Maybe. I'm not sure. Whatever the case, I had to cool down reading a number of books at a time...at least, for fun. For school I was, in fact, reading too many books at one time. Now that I'm not in school and able to read for fun (finally wanting to do that has returned to me, after having been burnt out by reading when I first returned), I'm back into reading many books at once. This week I not only finished The Prestige, but I just now finished Gig: Americans Talk about their Jobs. I would say that this book is ok to good. There are some really interesting articles (especially the one by the plastic surgeon), but for the most part this book was labor intensive to get through and some of the entries were boring...or, more likely, the people just didn't give a good idea of what their profession is like. I thought it was interesting sociologically to see how many people are dissatisfied with their professions and have dreams about doing something totally different. Many, many people mentioned those aspirations in their article. Today I bought my first two Christmas presents. I had to stop by Toys R Us for something for church, so I figured that I'd pick up a present for my two little cousins. So that feels good to at least have done something. - Jenny, 12/13/2007 05:30:00 PM |
