Heather & JennyToday I picked up Heather. And by picked up, I don't mean off the street. I picked her up at the airport. Heather and I have been friends since kindergarten. And, whereas it hasn't always been smooth sailing and whereas we've lived quite a distance from each other for about a third of our friendship, our friendship remains and we're able to laugh with and enjoy each other. She's currently living in Portland and is home for the next ten days or so. It was a treat to be able to spend the day with her.

There is some bizarre sound happening in this house. It sounds almost like a parrot and one of those loud bendy straws put together. I'm not sure what it is. But I guess it's probably not dangerous.

Tonight I watched Love Actually while eating the left-overs of a delicious stew that Carrie made earlier in the week. I've actually been anticipating these left-overs all week long. Anyway, in the movie is this guy who I a.) recognized had a Scottish accent and, b.) pinpointed as having come from Glasgow. I was very, very proud of myself and then a little wistful in thinking about how I really like Scotland. If we had a Little Scotland here in LA (much like Little Tokyo or Thai Town or the like), I'd probably hang out there all the time.

Right now I have 29 emails in my Gmail inbox. 8 or 9 of them are from a woman who I'm designing a website for. My goal this weekend is to do that work for her so that I can archive them all. Then I will be at 20 glorious emails.
