Last night I had a lot of weird dreams, including me being the national spokeswoman to get people to eat bison as the new red meat, now that there is this mad cow thing going on. I was so confused when I woke up--how could I have possibly dreamt that? Then I came in to work and read my blogs and realized that Odd Todd wrote about bison in his daily TV fact yesterday, and it all makes sense now.
This weekend I am being whisked away to a glorious week in the mountains with a bunch of middle schoolers. Yes, that's right--Jr. High Winter Camp. I'm not sure how I feel about this--I love the middle schoolers (they are so cute!)...but...for an entire weekend? We'll see how it goes. I'm just hoping that there's no snow. Although no snow would make the students very sad, I'll be driving up there on my own in my car, with no chains or snow-driving experience.
It looks like the Friday Five is not happening this week. In its absence, I will do Past, Present & Future:
PAST: Did you, or did you not, eat your vegetables as a youngster?
Yes! I have loved vegetables ever since I was a little girl. In fact, at a young age I wanted to become a vegetarian and told my parents so. Apparently, they got around me being a vegetarian by feeding me steak and saying that it was OK for me to eat it because it was "watermelon steak." I believed it, hook, line & sinker.
PRESENT: What sorts of veggies will and won't you eat nowadays?
Mmmm...I love vegetables. My favorites are red bell peppers, carrots, corn, jicama, cooked broccoli, peas, and other veggies that I cannot remember right now. The vegetables I WON'T eat are mushrooms & beets. Absolutely gross.
FUTURE: Which would you rather end up: Vegetable or mineral? (We're assuming you're currently an animal, here. If otherwise, you should really let us know.)
Tough one. Since it's a 50/50 sort of thing and I don't have an answer, I think I'll flip a coin....heads, vegetable. Tails, mineral. Ok....flipping...TAILS--Mineral.
Have a good weekend. :)
